changing needs.Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and
detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team here at Entyre
Care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll
processing across multiple states, with a deep understanding of
federal, state, and local payroll regulations specific to the
healthcare industry. This position plays a key role in ensuring
accurate and timely payroll processing and effective communication
with employees and management regarding payroll-related
matters.Responsibilities:
- Accurately process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for employees
across multiple states, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local payroll tax
regulations, including adjustments for various state-specific
requirements related to healthcare professionals, overtime, and
benefits.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits related to
payroll, including deductions for health insurance, retirement
plans, and other voluntary benefits. Ensure deductions are correct
and compliant with healthcare-related regulations.
- Collaborate with HR to manage time and attendance systems,
ensuring accurate reporting of hours worked, PTO usage, sick leave,
and overtime, in accordance with company policy and state
regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and
resolve discrepancies in employee records. Reconcile payroll
reports with the general ledger and work with accounting to ensure
proper posting.
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, tax deductions,
and benefits, providing clear and professional assistance in a
timely manner.
- Generate and distribute accurate payroll reports, including
payroll summaries, deductions, tax filings, and other necessary
payroll documents to internal stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, ensuring
confidentiality and security of sensitive employee data in
compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.Minimum
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance,
Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of payroll processing experience, with a
strong preference for candidates with experience in the healthcare
industry.
- Knowledge of Regulations: In-depth knowledge of state and
federal payroll tax laws, including experience with multi-state
payroll.
- Must have NetSuite experience.
- Experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paychex,
Ceridian, or similar systems. Familiarity with electronic
timekeeping systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to spot
discrepancies and ensure that all payroll information is accurate
and compliant with applicable laws.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the
ability to resolve payroll-related issues quickly and
accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the
ability to explain payroll-related issues clearly to employees and
management.
- Ability to handle sensitive payroll information in a
confidential and professional manner.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with healthcare-specific payroll (e.g., physicians,
nurses, allied health professionals).
- Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a
plus.
- Knowledge of benefits administration in the healthcare
sector.
- Experience with multi-location and multi-state payroll
management.
