Johnson Controls Security Technician is a troubleshooter and
service expert possessing knowledge and experience with intrusion,
IP CCTV, access control and fire alarm systems from multiple
manufacturers. Candidate will possess strong verbal communication
skills as they identify the needs of the customer and then inform
them of next steps and processes to repair the system as needed to
return full functionality. Candidate will possess skills and
experience to inspect said systems to ensure proper functionality
and provide written or digital reports to customer and company as
needed.How you will do it
- Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or
wiring.
- Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment
and test for operation.
- Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire
departments, or other appropriate agencies.
- Performs repair and/or inspections of intrusion detection, IP
CCTV, Access Control systems and fire alarms (if applicable).
- Assists fellow service technicians with system repairs and
completes minor repairs including battery replacement.
- Tests operation of system to the customer monitoring center to
properly establish service connectivity.
- Complete all forms accurately and customer paperwork as
required.What we look for Required
- State License of RI for Burglar Alarm, Telcom/Video and Fire
Alarm.
- Experience installing, inspecting, repairing, and programming
card access and CCTV.
- Fire alarm experience is a plus.
- Excellent general knowledge of major security manufacturer
platforms including; Bosch/Radionics, Honeywell, Firelite, Silent
Knight, DMP, DSC, etc.
- Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- 2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- This role will work in the Lincoln RI area.
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and
moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such
as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40
feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work flexible hours / on -call rotation that may
include weekends to meet customer requirements.
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
- Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer
needs.
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and always follow safety
guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability
to learn quickly.
- Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets
company requirements.
- Knowledge of applicable NFPA standards.We believe in doing well
